Prof. Eitan Scafe, gastroenterologist

President (former) of the Israeli Association for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases in Israel.

Served as chairman of the Ethics Committee (Helsinki) for clinical trials on humans at Assaf Harofeh Hospital.

Prof. Scafa has directed the Institute of Gastroenterology and Liver and Cardiovascular Diseases at Assaf Harofeh Medical Center since 1991. Prof. Scafa studied at the School of Medicine of the Hebrew University and Tel Aviv University (1971) and served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Medical Corps_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_ until 1986.

Prof. Scafe served as a research fellow at Harvard Medical School (1981-83) and was a guest at the Gastroenterology Department of the Medical Center in Amsterdam (1990) and at the University School of Hamburg (1993).

Prof. Scapa is a full clinical professor at Tel Aviv University (over 200 publications), he is one of the inventors of the endoscopic capsule and has operated a private clinic for gastroenterology and endoscopy since 1977
